PSM I FEE

Hi,

Could you tell me what is the psm 1 exam fee?
From some forums i got an information that it is 100 $, but on scrum.org the price is 150 $?

Why are there questions in PSM I that are not actually part of scrum

Hi All,

I failed today by 1 question (this seems to be an oddly popular failing score), I am irritated though as I faced many questions about topics that simply don't exist in the scrum guide, for example burn-down charts and extremely rare situations. I feel this to unfair and to have been lulled into a false sense of security by the repetitive nature of the questions in the open assessment. Add into this the fact that no information is provided on incorrect answers or even accurate areas of deficiency leave a student irate.

I love learning about scrum genuinely but can help feel mislead by the inclusion of so many questions about items that in my understanding are not actually part of scrum. Please could someone explain their inclusion, as its hard to understand how an exam on a subject can include things that are not actually part of a subject.

Thanks

Kieran

PSPO 1 assessment practice

Hi,
I've registered for PSPO 1 and have been giving open assessments repeatedly. But after a couple of attempts I I'm only getting repeated questions and scoring a 100% in that doesn't say much about my ability to crack the actual PSPO 1 assessment. Kindly let me know if there are other sources that would help me validate my readiness for the actual assessment.

I've been reading scrum guide and books on Agile Estimation and planning,User Stories Applied For Agile Software Development by Mike Cohn. Do recommend some more good sources for prep on other areas that need attention ( ROI for example).

Finally, let me know if there's a time limit within which I should take the assessment after receiving the password.

Thanks much for your time and patience.

Are all these part of scrum ? As Scrum guide don't tell anything about these.

And which of the following are not time boxed events ?
Release testing
Sprint 0
Release retrospective

Many Development teams working in the same code creates coordination problems which can be sufficiently addressed with a comprehensive branching and merging model in shared version control

PSM 1 Vs PSPO 1

Hi everyone,

I'm about to take the PSM 1 assessment and soon after the PSPO 1. Passing the PSM 1 with a good score is enough to think that I can pass the PSPO 1 with success?

Which are the differences? Do they share only some questions or most of them?

My preparation is based on Scrum Open assessment, testtakeronline.com, Scrum Guide, Software in 30 Days, Agile Game Development with Scrum and most of all daily experience in a Scrum Team.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello

I have recently been transitioned to PO role from the scrum master and is looking for a PSPO course in India. Do you guys have any plan of doing so in near future? Also for appearing in the PSPO I exam, is it mandatory to attend a PO class?

Cheers
Sanjay

Passed PSM 1

Hi all,

I just passed the PSM 1 today (88%) at first attempt. The exam was hard so I prepared my detailed review plan for this certification.

I took the 4 Open Assessments from Scrum.org until I got 100% on each of them.

https://www.scrum.org/Assessments/Open-Assessments/Scrum-Practitioner-Open-Assessment
https://www.scrum.org/Assessments/Open-Assessments/Developer-Open-Assessment
https://www.scrum.org/Assessments/Open-Assessments/Scrum-Practitioner-Open-Assessment
http://www.classmarker.com/online-test/start/?quiz=7rt5464b55300026

I took the free online Exam simulator until I got 90%+ every time.

http://www.europeanscrum.org/scrum-exam-simulator.html

I read the forums on Scrum.org site. I reviewed the manuals given on the PSM 1 training for 1 week and most of all I read http://www.scrumguides.org/ every day for two weeks.

Emman

What does this answer MEAN?

I need help from someone who is better at the English language than I am :)

There is particular statement in the open practitioner assessment:
"How the organization discusses and plans the work of creating software will be reflected in the implementation of that software."

It is a bit embarrassing but right now I could not explain the meaning of this in my own words. That probably means that I did not fully understand it...

Could anyone try to describe the meaning of this sentence in his or her own words?

For context: It is one of the answers to this question:
"Technical systems can be decomposed to composite elements, from the large to the small. Basic components may be represented as activities, workflows, functions, features, capabilities, and other similar nomenclature. How does this system decomposition affect Scrum Teams on scaled projects?"

Thanks in advance!

Passed PSM I at the first try

Firstly, thanks everyone in the forum. I have got so much help and information of the test from your experience.

Before I took the PSM I test, I tried the Open test of Scrum Master and Scrum Master Developer for many times. And I always answered the questions 100% correctly. But I can only answer 30% - 40% questions correctly in the Open Scrum Master Practitioner test. As a result, I lost some scores for the Scrum Master Practitioner questions.

So my experience is that we need to take all the three open tests and make sure we can answer all the questions in PSM and PSMD because we can check the answers after the test. I do not know the correct answer of the Practitioner questions since I can only get a score after the test. So please just try your best to get a higher score in the Practitioner test before you take the PSM I test.

I plan to work on PSM II. How should I prepare for it? Are there any books or videos or tests which can help me to prepare for it? Thanks.

Hi,

I have just passed the PSM level 1 exam and I would like my signature on my email at work to show this.
Are there any official graphics/words/etc.. that can be used to show this. e.g. PhD, BSc, PSM1?

Hi all

Am new to this world of PSM certification. Was wandering do I need to go through all the 15 suggested books in 5 different sections before sitting for the PSM exam or can I pick up one book from each group to gain some good understanding before sitting for the certification?

Time delay between clicking next and loading next question

I have given PSM 1 Exam today and didn't passed the assessment as I faced lot of issues regarding the time.

The main problem was
A> "The time taken to load the Next question after answering a question and pressing next was too much. For all the questions It took on an average 30 seconds to 1 minute just to load next question. And in 1 particular question it almost took 3.5 minutes to load the next question."
B> Because of above time problem I have to rush so fast and I didn't get time to even read all the questions also and many answers were given in tremendous hurry.
C>Out of total 80 Minutes I spent almost 30 Minutes waiting for the next question to appear.

I have attempted Scrum open assessment multiple times but there was very less delay once you press next for next question to appear. Usually 2-3 seconds But I was socked to see such time delay in the main examination. This problem has really made my experience with the test very bad.

Please consider this issue and help me as possible and give another password for re attempt of examination
More importantly, I would suggest for this improvement in the examination software. i.e. not to record time between "next button pressed and new question loaded". This would help many people out there attempting exam.

Thanks & Regards, Scrum On

Scaled Professional Scrum (SPS certification exam)

Hello,

I am hoping the more involved members may be able to help, I am looking at the SPS event in London and am extremely interested however I notice that scrum.org currently doesn't have any certifications regarding Scaled Professional Scrum.

I am PSM 2 and have studied other scaled methodologies e.g. SAFE and LESS and have worked on some large scale agile programmes however I am particularly interested in SPS, the issue I have is I work for a consultancy and without a specific certification exam available to demonstrate the knowledge gained/achieved over time is a hard sale to my company to send me on this? Is there any certification exam in the pipeline?

Thanks

Aaron

Any tip, link, contact or help you can provide me with?

Its about Scrum Events! Please Clarify.

I am going through the scrum guide and came across few statements which i found difficult to understand. kindly throw some light to bring out their actual relevance:

1: Scrum says there are four formal events to inspect and adapt and few of them like Daily Scrum,Sprint Review are informal meetings.

2: Scrum says "Sprint contains and consists of the Sprint Planning , Daily Scrums, the development work, the sprint review and the sprint retrospective". so does it mean if timebox for a sprint is 1 month(30 calendar days) then all sprint events will be covered within these 30 days only. or events like Sprint review and Sprint retrospective will take place after 1 month (timebox of Sprint ).

Also will phases like testing, UAT, release deployment be done within timebox of a Sprint(30 days here).?

Am I ready for PSM1?

Hi community,

I started totally fresh with scrum 2 weeks ago. We need a PSM1 at work and I get asked if I would like to learn this.

So I started reading the guide, all sites mentioned in other posts here and which I could find on the web.

I am still reading stuff, and since 3 days I do several open assesments here and free tests at testtakeronline.com.

All with more then 95%.

What do you think? Am I ready for doing the PSM1 assesment? I mean, with the above knowledge about me, is there any good chance I could handle this assesment with the first try?

Or would it be better to spend 20$ at testtakeronline for the package with 350 questions?

Any comment would be very appreciated! Thanks!

Cheers,
Thomas
