I just passed my PSM I in first attempt! I've always heard that the exam was tough, so I was really nervous when I was taking the exam. My hands were shaking all the way.
I knew nothing about Scrum before I took this exam and I have no Scrum related working experience at all! I just graduated from university and thought that it will be useful if I can get myself a few certificates. I did my research and decided to take PSM I because it is the only affordable certificate for me. And so, after studying for four days, I decided to take the exam.
The exam was indeed much tougher than the open assessment and I thought that I may not be able to pass. To my surprise, I managed to get 98% and would like to share with everyone how I prepared for the exam!
1. Read the Scrum guide several times.
2. Took the open assessments a few times and made sure I get 100% every single time. I actually took all the open assessments (Scrum, Nexus, Product Owner and Developer) but that was not necessary. You only need to take Scrum and Product Owner open assessments.
3. Read Scrum Narrative and PSM Exam Guide book. It is really detailed and informative. Must read!
4. Read Management Plaza's The Scrum Master Training Manual
5. Do Mikhail Lapshin's quiz several times. (http://mlapshin.com/index.php/psm-quiz/)
And that's it!
Good luck to everyone taking the exam! :)
