Hello all,
I passed PSM 1 Test Assessment in the first attempt - 86.3% just on the boarder line!
It was not an easy at all. The set of question I got had some very tricky questions- with more than one nearly correct answer. Questions were much harder than in any of the mock tests. Some do come from open assessment - but very very few. One needs to be have strong fundamentals and in-depth understanding of Concepts from Scrum Guide. Even with 4+ years of exposure with Scrum and have handled similar type of the real life situations - assessment expects the answer to be aligned with scrum guide.
- 3-4 questions around Team formation across 100 team members - Scrum Guide does not talk much about Scrum Team formation and which role is responsible. Key is - principle of "Self Organizing" and "Cross Functional".
- there were multiple choice questions around Conflict - at Team members level, between PO and Development Team - with more than 2/3 sounding correct options and some very wired options as well.
- Question on Burn Down chart + Trend line - and the inference associated with it!
My preparation over 4 week included -
Study
1. Scrum Guide - multiple readings. Only after reading and going thr the Scrum guide multiple times - one can start to understand each and every scrum element - every word has a specific meaning behind it.
2. Agile_Project_Management_With_Scrum - by Ken Schwaber
3. The-Scrum-Master-Training-Manual - By Nader K. Rad, Frank Turley (Management Plaza)
4. Articles/Blogs on Agile and Scrum - Scrum.Org forum is a good source to go through - there are some very interesting discussions and perspectives.
