Kill the Sprint

Hi All,

My question is simple and straight forward .

If the Dev Team has taken up 5 PBIs for the sprint.
Towards the end of the sprint due to some blocker or dependency with other system or some Technical challenge one the PBI not completed on time.

So does this mean to kill the Sprint just because of one PBI was not completed??

I know we can create an Impediment and return the PBI to Backlog again.
Is there anything else we can do (Assume that nobody from Dev Team raised the Impediment )??

I am open for all possible options.
