Reporting completion points in daily standups

Hello,

I have a quick question: How does one assess the completion points while reporting in daily stand-ups?

For example: if a user story being worked on in a Sprint is 20 points, each day how to report the completion points? I know ideally it should be decomposed into tasks but if not, how does one assess if 5 points ot 8 points are completed out of the assigned 20? And in case new information comes in and changes the estimates, how to adapt it to the reporting?

Any recommendations?
