Should a Servant Leader be attached or detached to the outcome of the Scrum Team?

I've heard two sides to the same question. Some have said that the servant leader should be detached from the outcome of the Scrum Team and some have said the exact opposite i.e. should be attached to the outcome of the Scrum Team.
