The most common scenario happens in the software industry is when a boss or project manager came to the team or a developer and ask them for the estimation to develop a new system for the client. The team responded that they need 3 months to develop the system without knowing about the architecture, user interface and any other technological constraints (as the manager is in a hurry). Manger says I need this done in 1.5 months at most. Negotiations on rough estimations often end up in a big mess and this is a worrying sign for any team.
