Burn Down chart calculation

In a Sprint if User Stories are estimated in Story points how is the burn down chart calculated.

Does the burn down chart is updated when Story points gets completed during the sprint or in a day by how many Story points are consumed or it is done through  task updation in hours or days or some other way.
